Privacy Principles

I. Approach
Clarity Services’ approach to privacy is simple: To ensure the privacy of our customers and consumers by safeguarding their information. We do this through a variety of policies and procedures that are in place to keep private information private and to govern its use.

II. Regulations
As a credit bureau, Clarity Services is bound by certain laws established by governmental agencies. Some of the regulations we abide by are the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Gramm- Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA).

III. Appropriate Business Use
Any information provided by Clarity Services is provided to those with permissible purpose only. All customers must have completed the contracting process prior to receiving any information from Clarity Services.

IV. Information Collected and Shared
Clarity Services collects various pieces of information about an individual during the course of a normal transaction. While all information is kept private, the information gathered can be grouped into three categories. No information is collected or used without a valid business purpose.

  • Contact Information

Information such as your name, addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, cell phone numbers, and email addresses are used for verification, contact, and/or billing purposes.

  • Identification Information

Information such as your Social Security Number, date of birth, and driver’s license number(s) are used to uniquely identify you when required.

  • Trade Information

Information such as bank accounts, account histories, and trade line information is used by our system during the course of normal business transactions.

Clarity Services only shares the minimum amount of information needed to perform services on our customer’s behalf as a part of a normal business transaction. All information shared is covered under contractual obligations entered into between Clarity Services and our partners. Information may also be shared when we are legally obligated to do so, such as inquiries from law enforcement.

V. Opting Out
By subscribing to our mailing list, you may receive communications from Clarity Services, Inc. or its affiliates. VI. Securing Information
Clarity Services restricts access to your information by our employees to only those who need to know it in order to provide you with the service(s) requested. We also employ multiple physical, electronic, and logical security layers and monitoring to keep your information private and secure.

All information accessed via our web-based services, regardless of its sensitivity, is encrypted across the Internet. A validated account is also required before gaining access to the information within our web-based system.

Information exchanged with our partners is performed using secure connections that employ additional security controls to ensure data security and integrity.

VII. Web Logs, IP Addresses, and Cookies
Like most websites, Clarity Services employees the use of logging for trending and diagnosing system problems. Your IP address, which is your unique address on the Internet, is captured along with the web request. No personally identifiable information (such as your Social Security Number) is captured in our web logs.

Cookies are little bits of information stored on your computer that are typically discarded when you are done with a web site. Our site uses cookies to store your session information while you are using our system. Only the minimal amount of information is needed to maintain your session is stored within the cookie. Personally identifiable information (such as your Social Security Number) is never stored within the cookie.

VIII. Notice of Changes
Clarity Services reserves the right to make changes to these Privacy Principles at any time without providing prior notice. Updates will be posted to the Clarity website, which will contain the most current version of these principles at all times.
